Georgia O'Keeffe Museum Poster
For this project I designed an 11x17 inch poster and 6x4 inch informational post card for the Austin Museum of Art's Georgia O'Keeffe exhibit.
Georgia O'Keeffe's artwork illustrates the natural beauty and colors of still life compositions found in nature. The majority of her work showcases ornate American landscapes, blossoming flowers and animal skeletons. Based on my research and observations O'Keeffe uses exaggerated and magnified optical perspectives matched with subtle lines, brush strokes and limited pastel or solid color palette. These attributes constitute her iconic and imagery-emphasized style.
I wanted my design to embody the characteristics and style of O'Keeffe's works and effectively showcase her artwork to the audience and entice viewers to come to the exhibition. I wanted use a simple San serif typeface and compatible color palette to not upstage O'Keeffe's work.
